We will be sunsetting the Offline Events method of our Facebook integration in January 2024. To avoid a disruption in your data, we recommend switching to our Pixel method before January 2024. Our Facebook Pixel integration is easier to set up and offers superior attribution and profile matching if you use visitor tracking.
What do I need to do?
If you aren't sure which method you're using to integrate with Facebook, you can follow these instructions.
- Click the Settings icon on the left navigation bar.
- Choose your company.
- Click Integrations at the top of the page.
- Choose Facebook from the list of integrations.
- If you see Pixel in the first section of the integration page, you're already using Pixel and no further action is required.
- If you see this alert at the top of the integration page, then you're using the Offline Events method and you can continue following the instructions below to switch to the Pixel method.
Verify your Facebook permissions
Before you begin, you'll need to verify that the following items are present.
-
Make sure the Facebook Pixel is installed on your site (or your customer's site if you are an agency).
- Check that you are an administrator of a Facebook Business Manager account and a Facebook ad account.
- The Facebook account you log in with must have Manage-level access to the Facebook Ad Account and Pixel. You can confirm this on the People tab in Facebook Ads.
- The Pixel that your events will report to must be connected to your Facebook Ad Account. You can confirm this on the Connected Assets tab within the Pixel.
- You must be an administrator on the Business Manager account used for this integration. This Business Manager account must have the Facebook Ad Account at least shared with it (ownership is not necessary). You can confirm this on the People tab in the Business Manager settings.
For more information on Facebook Business Manager settings, see Facebook's help article.
