Duplicate Form Submissions

When a lead visits your website and fills out one of your forms, CallRail automatically captures and compares each of the fields that the customer filled out on your form. If we detect the same person submitting multiple forms within a short period of time, we'll automatically compress their submissions so you can see each version of their form submission.

CallRail detects forms submitted by the same person within a five minute time period. Each version of a form we detect is automatically marked as a duplicate.

If you de-duplicate a form, that form will be removed from the list of duplicates. It won't affect the valid submission we've detected on the timeline.


See Duplicate Submissions

On the Form Submission dashboard, the "Duplicates" icon will only appear if a submission has duplicates associated with it.

  1. Choose the company whose forms you’d like to view.

  2. Click Activity at the top of the page.

  3. Select Form Submissions in the left menu.

  4. If a form has duplicate submissions, you'll be able to click See Duplicates. This icon will only appear if we detect multiple submissions from the same person.

  5. The "Web Session" section on the left shows your lead's referring information at the time when they submitted duplicate submissions.

  6. Each duplicate submission shows on the right-hand side of the page. The submission at the top of the list with the badge "Valid Submission" is the form CallRail detects as the most complete.

  7. To open your duplicate submissions, click to expand the forms submitted at the same time as the valid submission.

De-duplicating and Deleting Submissions

De-duplicating a form removes the form from being listed as a duplicate of the valid submission we've detected. If you de-duplicate a submission, it won't affect your valid submissions. If you delete a duplicate submission, it will be permanently removed from your list of duplicates. Deleting a duplicate submission also has no impact on your valid submission.

  1. Choose the company whose forms you’d like to view.

  2. Click Activity at the top of the page.

  4. If a form has duplicate submissions, you'll be able to click See Duplicates. This icon will only appear if we detect multiple submissions from the same person.

  5. If you believe one of the submissions is not a duplicate, you can click Remove from Duplicates.

  6. If you'd like to permanently delete a form's duplicate submission, click Delete.
