Can I track activity across both subdomain and main domain?
Hi. Will my call tracking work based on the following setup I have so far;
I have 2 landing pages that needs call tracking.
One is on a subdomain (info.mydomain.com)
And the other is on the main domain (mydomain.com)
Both using the same destination number
I've also setup 2 different Google analytics properties for each of the above.
I'm not sure if this will track properly because I noticed that I can only 1 Google Analytics integration which asks for me to input a domain. In this scenario, I inputted the subdomain url below and left out the main domain.
Can you explain what would happen here and can I track both domains correctly?

Hey Dean!
To set up call tracking within CallRail, each domain just needs to have the javascript code installed and the correct destination number.
Integrating with Google Analytics will require a little more work since each has its own property/Google Analytics ID. Only one Google Analytics ID can be integrated per company. If you would like to track your subdomain in a separate property from your main domain, you'll want to keep them in separate companies within CallRail to integrate them each to their own Google Analytics property.
If you do decide to move them into separate companies, here are some articles on how to get everything organized. Keep in mind, each company has their own javascript code, so if you move the main domain into its own company with its numbers, you'll need to remove the javascript code and use the code from the new company you created instead.
As for the example of the URL, we do provide the example of "www.example.com" within the box where you enter the URL for the Google Analytics integration.
I hope you find all of this helpful!
One more thing and as feedback:
I think you guys should make it clear as to what the proper url should be when we input our url into the Google Analytics Integration field. I dealt with support in the past and apparently, there is a big difference between "domain.com" vs "www.domain.com"
If I recall from, the latter would track correctly but the former wouldn't. So it might help to show what the proper url should look like. Thanks

I was afraid you might say this. I'm trying to avoid paying extra fees just for a new domain. A couple of thoughts;
Since this is an issue affecting Google Analytics, would the google ads integration still work across both domains in my scenario? I just want to see conversion data across the 2nd domain. Or would it not work correctly given the Analytics issue?
Second; regarding the GA field. Is https://domain.com = www.domain.com ? Or must it only be www.domain.com ?
Thanks Robin.
Hey Dean!
You can add as many companies to your CallRail account as you'd like at no additional charge.
As long as you are tracking both domains within the same Google Ads account, this should not be a problem. If they are in separate Google Ads accounts, you'll need to move one into another company within CallRail to integrate each Google ads account to their respective domains.
Either domain should work if that is the correct URL for the live site page.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
Hey Robin.
Let's just assume that I use one company account for both main domain and sub domain. Even though conversions can't be accounted for the main domain because of my existing setup, I can still see calls coming in through the dashboard right?
Hey Dean. That is correct! As long as you have the destination numbers correct and the javascript installed, the dynamic number insertion will work on both domains. Any calls made to those numbers will appear on your CallRail dashboard.
