Tracking calls from AI search engines
Hi all! On the CallRail product team, we're very curious to know how our customers are approaching and thinking about attributing traffic from AI search engines like Google's Gemini, SearchGPT (still in Beta), and Perplexity.
Do you envision wanting to swap tracking numbers specifically for these sources?
Would you lump them in under the "organic search" category? Or do you think they warrant their own category?
For unpaid traffic (which is all they currently offer), do you consider the medium "Organic"? Or is this a totally new thing (Organic - AI, for example)?
In general, is the traffic from AI search engines high quality/leading to conversions? Have you noticed any other noteworthy trends?
