How do text message replies work?

How does call rail assign a reply to the automated text message I set up for missed calls? If there are multiple phone numbers in the call flow does it randomly send the callers reply text message to one of the numbers in the call flow?

    Hey Paul,
    By default, we'll send your text message from the tracking phone number your customer called. We also have you pick a backup tracking phone number in case your customers call a tracking number that doesn't support text messaging. Toll-free tracking phone numbers cannot send text messages only local numbers as this time.

    Also, keep in mind that a customer might provide a landline number or another phone number that can't receive text messages. In this case, they wouldn't receive your automated response. Additionally, if the caller disconnects before 15 seconds have passed, the call will be classified as abandoned, and the caller will not receive an automated response text message.
