Marking text messages as spam

Any text message can be marked as spam. The Mark as Spam button will remove the text message from your form inbox. Additionally, you will no longer receive text messages from that phone number.

Learn more about the various ways CallRail prevents spam.

Mark a text as spam

You can access the Mark as Spam button from the caller's timeline:

  1. Select Messaging on the left navigation bar.
  2. Choose a text message conversation from the inbox.
  3. Once the conversation is opened in the middle section of the screen, you will see an icon on the right. This icon is the Mark as spam icon.Screenshot 2025-04-11 at 2.11.14 PM.png
  4. Selecting this icon will present two options:
    1. Mark as spam will remove the message, and future messages, from your inbox and reports
    2. Block contact will prevent the phone number from contacting your CallRail number and mark the message and thread as spam.58c5cd0c-76d9-47c5-8e4e-1de51638284f.png
  5. Confirm the desired action in the pop-up window.

The selected conversation’s spam icon will be colored red to indicate the message is spam.

Once the inbox page is refreshed, the conversation will be removed from the inbox.
