Attio integraiton

Overview

The Attio integration automatically adds your CallRail callers and texters to Attio, the CRM many startups, venture capital firms, and tech companies use to manage their contacts. Every time someone calls or texts one of your tracked numbers, CallRail creates or updates that person's record in Attio, complete with the marketing source that brought them in. If you use Voice Assist, CallRail's AI voice agent can also look up what Attio already knows about a caller (their company, notes, and more) so the conversation feels personal from the first hello, not like it's starting from scratch.

Before You Begin

  • You need an active Attio account.
  • You need an active CallRail account with at least one Company and Tracker set up.
  • To take advantage of the Voice Assist lookup feature, Voice Assist must be purchased and enabled on your CallRail account. The lookup will only apply to calls handled by Voice Assist.

Connect Attio

  1. In CallRail, select the Integrations icon in the left navigation.
  2. Find Attio in the integrations library and select Connect.
  3. Log in to your Attio account when prompted and approve the permissions CallRail requests.
  4. You'll be returned to CallRail with the integration connected.

The first time you connect, CallRail automatically sets up everything it needs in your Attio workspace. It creates a list called CallRail Leads so every synced contact appears somewhere you can easily find them, along with five custom fields that hold the marketing details behind each lead: CallRail - Lead Source, CallRail - Lead Medium, CallRail - Lead Campaign, CallRail - Lead Landing Page, and CallRail - Call Summary. You don't need to create any of these yourself.

To disconnect the integration later, use the same Integrations page. Once disconnected, CallRail stops creating or updating records in Attio.

Data

Once connected, CallRail syncs a caller or texter's information to Attio automatically, in real time, whenever a tracked call or text comes in. There's no manual sync button and no daily or hourly batch, each event updates Attio right away.

A few things to know about how the sync works:

  • CallRail matches contacts by email address first. If no email is available, it matches by phone number instead.
  • Only calls and texts that come in after you connect the integration are synced. Past leads already in CallRail are not backfilled into Attio.
  • This is a one-way sync. Changes you make directly in Attio don't flow back into CallRail.
  • Deal or pipeline information isn't part of this integration. Only contact (Person), Company, List, and Notes data is used.
  • Attio is a CRM, not an email platform, so email open and click activity isn't available through this integration.

Troubleshooting

My leads have stopped syncing to Attio. 

If Attio can't be reached several times in a row, CallRail automatically pauses the integration to avoid repeated failed attempts. Reconnect Attio from the Integrations page to resume syncing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my existing CallRail leads show up in Attio once I connect?

No. Only new calls and texts received after you connect the integration are synced. Leads from before you connected won't be backfilled.

Can I use Attio and another CRM integration, like HubSpot, at the same time?

You can connect more than one, but for Voice Assist's caller lookup, only the CRM you connected most recently is used to pull context for the call.

Does this integration track email opens or clicks?

No. Attio is a CRM, not an email marketing tool, so engagement data like opens and clicks isn't part of this integration.

Will CallRail create Deals in Attio?

No. This integration works with People, Companies, Lists, and Notes only. Deal and pipeline data isn't included.
