The Kommo integration connects your CallRail account to Kommo (formerly known as amoCRM), a sales and messaging CRM used by many small businesses to manage leads and conversations. Once connected, CallRail automatically creates or updates a Lead and Contact in Kommo every time a call or text message comes in on one of your tracking numbers, so your sales team always has an up-to-date record without any manual data entry.
Along with each Lead, CallRail adds attribution details like the marketing source, campaign, and landing page that brought the caller to you, plus the call recording and a summary of the conversation. This gives your team full context on where a lead came from the moment they see it in Kommo.
If you use Voice Assist, the integration also works in real time: when a caller you've spoken with before calls again, Voice Assist looks up their existing Lead and Contact information in Kommo, including their pipeline stage and recent activity, so the conversation can pick up with full context.
Before You Begin
Before connecting Kommo to CallRail, make sure you have the following:
- An active Kommo account with permission to create what Kommo calls a private integration. This is Kommo's self-serve way of generating the credentials CallRail needs to connect, and it does not require approval from Kommo.
- At least one CallRail tracking number already set up. The integration is triggered by calls and texts to your tracking numbers, so you'll want a tracker in place before you connect.
- [Confirm: Kommo integration plan requirement] No specific CallRail plan level was confirmed for this integration at the time of writing. Verify with your product team whether this integration is available on all CallRail plans before publishing.
Setup
- In your Kommo account, create a private integration to generate a client ID and client secret. Kommo generates these automatically once the private integration is created; no outreach to Kommo is required.
- In CallRail, go to the Integrations tab.
- Find Kommo in the list of available integrations and select Connect.
- You'll be redirected to Kommo to log in and approve the connection. Review the permissions and select Allow (or the equivalent approval button in Kommo).
- You'll be redirected back to CallRail, where the connection is verified automatically. Once verification succeeds, the integration status will show as active.
- CallRail automatically creates a set of custom fields in your Kommo account (such as CallRail - Lead Source, Lead Medium, Lead Campaign, CallRail - Recording, and CallRail - Call Summary) to hold the attribution details sent from CallRail. You don't need to create these fields yourself.
Once connected, there's nothing else to set up. New calls and texts to your tracking numbers will automatically create or update Leads and Contacts in Kommo going forward.
Data
Data flows one direction only: from CallRail into Kommo. Kommo does not send information back to CallRail, and changes made directly in Kommo won't appear in CallRail.
Every call or text to a tracking number is sent to Kommo in real time. For each one, CallRail:
- Creates a Contact (or updates a matching one) with the caller's name, phone number, and email address, if available.
- Creates a Lead linked to that Contact, named using the caller's name (for example, "Jane Smith - CallRail Lead").
- Adds attribution details to the custom fields CallRail created in Kommo, including lead source, medium, campaign, keywords, landing page, referring page, tracking number, call type, call duration and outcome, a link to the call recording, and a call summary.
CallRail matches contacts in Kommo primarily by email address. [Confirm: whether phone-number matching is also supported] If a caller doesn't have an email address on file, a new Contact and Lead may be created instead of updating an existing one. Confirm this behavior before publishing it as a stated limitation.
If you use Voice Assist, it separately looks up (but does not permanently store) a returning caller's existing Lead status, pipeline stage, Contact details, and recent notes or tasks from Kommo in real time, so the agent has full context during the call.
CallRail uses Kommo's standard secure sign-in process to connect your accounts, and automatically keeps the connection active behind the scenes so you don't have to manually reconnect. If you disconnect the integration, the custom fields CallRail created in your Kommo account will remain there; they are not automatically removed.
