Lasso integration

Overview

If you're a homebuilder or real estate developer using Lasso CRM to manage your prospective buyers, the Lasso CRM integration saves your sales team from manually typing lead details into Lasso every time a call comes in. When a tracked call or form submission comes into CallRail, we automatically create or update the matching record (called a "registrant") in Lasso for you, so your team can focus on selling instead of data entry.

The integration also works with Voice Assist, CallRail's AI phone agent. When a returning prospect calls in, Voice Assist can look up their existing Lasso record in real time and use that information to have a more informed conversation.

Before You Begin

Before you connect Lasso CRM, make sure you have the following:

  • An active Lasso CRM account with API access enabled. You'll need this to generate an API key, which is how CallRail securely connects to your Lasso account. If you're not sure whether API access is enabled on your account, contact Lasso CRM support.
  • Call Tracking and/or Form tracking set up in CallRail. Tracked calls and form submissions are what trigger the sync to Lasso, so Call Tracking needs to be active on your account.

You do not need call recording or Conversation Intelligence turned on for this integration to work. Lasso CRM doesn't have a place to store call recordings or call summaries, so this integration doesn't send that information.

Connect Lasso CRM

  1. In CallRail, click Settings in the left navigation, then select Integrations.
  2. Find the Lasso CRM tile in the integrations library and click Connect.
  3. In a separate browser tab, log in to Lasso CRM and generate a developer API key (this is sometimes called a project API key). Check Lasso CRM's help documentation if you need guidance on where to find this.
  4. Copy the API key, return to CallRail, and paste it into the API Key field.
  5. Click Save (or Connect) to finish. CallRail will check that the key works, and the integration will show as connected once it's verified.

Data

Here's what happens behind the scenes once Lasso CRM is connected.

What triggers a sync: Every time a tracked call finishes or a form is submitted on your CallRail-tracked website, CallRail checks Lasso for a matching registrant.

  • CallRail looks for an existing registrant first by phone number, and then by email address if no phone match is found.
  • If a match is found: CallRail fills in any of the fields below that are currently blank on that registrant. CallRail never overwrites information your sales team has already entered in Lasso.
  • If no match is found: CallRail creates a brand new registrant in Lasso using the caller or form submitter's information.

This happens automatically and in real time. There's no daily or scheduled sync to wait for.

The table below shows exactly which fields move from CallRail into Lasso:

CallRail InformationLasso CRM FieldWhen a New Registrant Is CreatedWhen an Existing Registrant Is Updated

A few important notes about how data flows:

  • This integration only sends data from CallRail to Lasso. Changes you make directly in Lasso are not sent back to CallRail.
  • Call recordings, transcripts, and call summaries are never sent to Lasso.
  • When Voice Assist looks up a caller during a live call, it can retrieve that registrant's name, email, phone number, and address to help personalize the conversation. It does not update or change anything in Lasso during that lookup, and it can't schedule appointments in Lasso.

Troubleshooting

What You're SeeingLikely CauseWhat to Do
The integration shows as disconnected, or you see a message like "We can't communicate with Lasso CRM."Your API key may be invalid, expired, or there were several failed connection attempts in a short period of time.Generate a new API key in Lasso CRM and enter it again in the CallRail integration settings.
You get an error right away when trying to connect. The API Key field was left blank when saving.Make sure you've pasted your API key into the field before clicking Save.
A new registrant was created in Lasso instead of updating an existing one you expected to match. The phone number or email on the call or form didn't match the format already saved in Lasso.Double check the phone number and email format on the existing Lasso registrant against what came through on the call or form.
An existing registrant in Lasso isn't updating with new information. This is expected if all the fields CallRail can fill in (name, email, phone, city, state, country) are already filled in on that registrant. CallRail only adds information to empty fields and never overwrites existing data.No action needed: this is expected behavior.
Voice Assist doesn't seem to recognize a returning caller. There isn't a Lasso registrant that matches the caller's phone number or email address.Confirm a matching registrant exists in Lasso for that phone number or email.
