ActiveCampaign is an email marketing, marketing automation, and sales CRM platform designed for growing businesses. CallRail's integration with ActiveCampaign allows you to update lead records, trigger marketing automations, and qualify prospects in ActiveCampaign using data from your inbound calls.
Getting started
If you want to see on-site marketing activity in your ActiveCampaign account, you'll need to set up visitor tracking in CallRail.
Integrating with ActiveCampaign
Follow the instructions below for each company you’d like to integrate with ActiveCampaign.
- Select the Settings icon on the left navigation bar.
- Choose the company you'd like to integrate with ActiveCampaign.
- Select Integrations at the top of the page.
- Choose ActiveCampaign from the list of integrations.
- Select Authorize.
- Next, you'll need the API URL and API Key from your ActiveCampaign account. To retrieve these, you can follow the instructions in this ActiveCampaign article.
- Enter the API URL and Key into the ActiveCampaign authorization screen.
- Select the Connect button. The integration will move to Pending.
- Choose a Deal Owner and a Deal Pipeline. These will be assigned to every Deal record the integration creates (one per phone call).
Please note: if you change your Deal Pipelines after authorizing the integration, you’ll need to deactivate and reauthorize the integration to refresh the list of Deal Pipelines. - Once you have chosen a Deal Owner and a Deal Pipeline, select Activate.
- The integration is now active and will begin sending data.
Seeing your data in ActiveCampaign
We’ll attempt to match existing contact records in your connected account by phone number. If we don't find a contact, we’ll create one.
- We will create one deal record per inbound phone call with details of the call. If your ActiveCampaign account has access to the Deals CRM, we will generate a deal record for each incoming phone call, including the call details.
- We will create one “Inbound Phone Call” custom record that can be viewed on the contact, which also includes details from the call.
At the contact level, CallRail will send:
- Email.
- Last Name.
- Phone Number.
Additionally, we'll send the following information:
- Source.
- Medium.
- Campaign.
- Tracking Number Name.
- Call Started.
- Call Duration.
- Answer Status.
- Keywords.
- Recording link.
- Call timeline link.
Deactivating the ActiveCampaign integration
Deactivating a company's ActiveCampaign integration will prevent CallRail from sending data to your ActiveCampaign account. We'll keep your integration credentials saved in case you'd like to reactivate your integration in the future.
- Select the Settings icon on the left navigation bar.
- Choose the company where you'd like to deactivate the integration.
- Select Integrations at the top of the page.
- Choose ActiveCampaign from the list of integrations.
- Select Deactivate ActiveCampaign on the right side of the page.
