Unbounce integration

With CallRail’s integration with Unbounce, you can see calls and text messages to your tracking numbers as conversions in Unbounce. This gives you the data you need to determine which landing page variation is performing best, and which variation the caller saw before calling your business.

Getting started 

In order to match visitor’s sessions with calls, CallRail's integration with Unbounce requires visitor tracking with your company's JavaScript snippet installed on each of your landing pages to enable dynamic number insertion.

You’ll also need to ensure that the telephone number on your landing page is being dynamically replaced with one of your visitor tracking numbers.

White label account users will need to set up the Unbounce integration through CallRail's domain, and not your custom white label domain since this integration uses OAuth 2.0.

Integrating with Unbounce

CallRail’s integration with Unbounce is company-dependent in your account. Follow the instructions below for each company you’d like to integrate with Unbounce.

  1. Click the Settings icon on the left navigation bar.

  2. Choose the company you’d like to integrate with Unbounce.

  3. Click Integrations at the top of the page.

  4. Choose Unbounce from the list of integrations.

  5. Click Authorize. This will take you to Unbounce’s website where you will be asked to authorize CallRail to use data from your Unbounce account. CallRail never sees your Unbounce password.

  6. Once you authorize your account, your integration will begin sending data for calls received after your integration is active.

Install our JavaScript snippet on your landing pages

To correlate visitors and callers with landing page variations, CallRail’s JavaScript code should be installed on each landing page you’d like to track in Unbounce.  Once your integration is authorized, and your script is installed on your landing pages, your integration will begin sending calls and texts as conversions to Unbounce. 

Here's how access your JavaScript code for dynamic number insertion.

Please note:  if you previously added the JavaScript code to specific pages without using Script Manager, please remove the script before following the steps below. If you are concerned about not tracking calls and texts during the time it takes to remove the script from a page and re-add it to Script Manager, we'd recommend that you delete the script from all your pages but do not republish the pages. Once you've removed the script, you can add the script to Script Manager and republish the pages.

You can use these instructions with the Classic Builder or the Smart Builder.

  1. Log into your Unbounce account.

  2. Click the Settings icon and select Script Manager.

  3. Click Add a Script.
     
  4. Name your script and click the Add Script Details button.

  5. Select Before Body End Tag from the Placement dropdown.
     
  6. In the Included on dropdown, we recommend selecting All.
     
  7. Paste the JavaScript code into the code area.

  8. Choose the domains where you'd like to add your script.
     
  9. Click Save Changes.

Viewing your data in Unbounce

Once the integration is active, we'll send the following data to Unbounce.

  • Date/Time
  • formatted_customer_number
  • answered
  • duration
  • lead_status 
  • call_summary (if Premium Conversation Intelligence is enabled).

To view your lead data in Unbounce, select the page your lead converted from and click on the Leads tab.

You can also view lead data via the email notifications Unbounce sends or by downloading your leads to a CSV.

 

Deactivating the Unbounce integration

Deactivating a company's integration with Unbounce will prevent your call data from appearing in your Unbounce account. We'll keep your Unbounce credentials saved in case you'd like to reactivate your integration in the future.

  1. Click the Settings icon on the left navigation bar.

  2. Choose the company where you'd like to deactivate the integration.

  3. Click Integrations at the top of the page.

  4. Choose Unbounce from the list of integrations.

  5. Click Deactivate Integration on the right side of the page.

FAQs

Why do I see multiple conversions in Unbounce for the same person?
If you're tracking form conversions through Unbounce and using CallRail's Unbounce integration, you may see two conversions for certain visitors. This happens when someone fills out a form on your landing page and also calls the tracking number on your site. This situation will count that visitor as two conversions within Unbounce.
