CallRail uses dynamic number insertion (DNI) to give your customers a unique phone number upon visiting your website. If your DNI is experiencing issues, CallRail will email you to notify you so that you can take action sooner. These email notifications are managed on an account level.
Please note: These email notifications do not mean there is an immediate error in your DNI. They are automated messages for when CallRail recommends reviewing your DNI settings.
Getting started
Currently, email notifications are available for the following alerts:
- Website pool size: a previously existing in-app-only alert for “risky swaps,” where we have determined a pool may be swapping too quickly for the current pool size. This may cause misattribution of the call source, and you might need to increase your pool size.
- Numbers not swapping: a new alert type indicating when a number has not been swapped for 3 or more days. If the pool is not swapping, you should confirm that the JavaScript snippet is still installed correctly on the website.
Creating a DNI email notification
- Select the Account icon in the top left to open the My Account panel, then choose Notifications.
- Select Dynamic number insertion from the Account Alerts section in the left menu.
- Select Create alert to make a new notification email.
- Choose which company the alert is for. You can also select all companies if desired.
- Choose the user who will receive the alert.
- Toggle which issues you wish to send emails for. You can choose both alerts if desired.
- Select Save to complete the alert creation.
It will now be shown on your Integration alerts page.
Deleting a DNI notification
- Click the Account icon in the top left to open the My Account panel, then click Notifications.
- Select Dynamic number insertion from the Account Alerts section in the left menu.
- On the dynamic number insertion page, locate the row containing the alert you'd like to delete and click the trash can icon at the far right.
