Types of call tracking

CallRail offers two types of call tracking:

Visitor-level call tracking

A website pool allows you to track all of the marketing sources that lead to your website with one group of numbers that swap for each new visitor using CallRail's JavaScript snippet. If you're running Google Ads PPC campaigns or other search engine pay-per-click ads, you'll need a website pool in order to get the visitor-level tracking that will report call conversions for the keywords you're bidding on.

Source-level call tracking

For source tracking, create one phone number per marketing campaign. Use the number directly on offline marketing collateral like billboards or mailers, or use CallRail's JavaScript snippet to dynamically swap the phone number on your website with a CallRail tracking number.

FAQs

Can I receive faxes through my CallRail phone number?
CallRail's tracking numbers cannot track, send, or receive faxes.

Can I purchase a vanity number from CallRail?
While CallRail can replace a vanity number on your website, we're not a reseller for vanity or alphanumeric tracking numbers. If you have a vanity number you'd like to use for call tracking purposes, you can port it into CallRail free of charge.
